Negotiation techniques
What is negotiation you may ask? And why is it important?
Negotiation is when you get to an agreement and it is important for when you want to get something from someone, and both parts could have a benefit from it.
There could be a lot of people involved in a negotiation, it could go as easy as two people or a little more complicated when a lot of people is involved, like companies, where you have to listen to everyone’s opinion, but at the end it is only one representative who seeks for the company’s interests and tries to find a good for both parts.
As I was saying a good negotiation must be beneficial for both parts, after some decision making both parts can go home happy knowing that is fair for everyone.
It is important for the both parts to be really clear in what they want, having flexibility for decision making and communication between others is key.
When you know you need something and want to get being persuasive and knowing how to express yourself to convince others is something you should really would want to consider, thinking about what others need and how what you want to get could be beneficial for them too.
You have to be well prepared to start a negotiation, in this case we are gonna talk about a negotiation between companies.
You start with discussion, bring to the table your first suggestions and then be really aware for the signs, or the first reactions you might get for your suggestions. Having contact with people, analyzing facial expressions, you might notice if they like it or not right away.
Proposals are next, these are the modified suggestions for both parts, making them more flexible.
Present what you are gonna give in exchange of getting what you want, and lastly get to an agreement.
